Flower Friend

This was the 2nd "Make and Take" that we made at the event I spoke about yesterday. I really liked the simple, but flowing design of this card. It was fun to make. This one used a new punch too, but this punch is unlike others, because it punches 3 different layers. Basically a 3 in one punch, you just slide a little button and you get the white layer, blue, and then green. Pretty neat, huh?

Simple Thank You

I was recently invited out by one of my stamping friends to another stamping event. At the event, we got to make 2 cards and take them home with us. This was one of the cards that I made. They are predesigned and precut, we just stamp, punch, glue and admire. They are called "Make and Takes". I love them, because they are quick (the biggest amount of my crafting time is spent trying to design and figure out my card) and you get to keep them. Another outcome of this event is that now I need the punch and stamp set. I must have it! Isn't it pretty?

Time Machine - Mother's Day

This beautiful card (if I say so myself) was in Nana's stack of cards that she saved. They were made pre-blog, so I wanted to share them. This card is simple in technique and products, but very sophiticated and very eye catching. I stamped the flowers in multiple colors and then took the middle rose and traced over it with a glue pen, added glitter and WAA LAA  (because spelling it "viola" confuses me!)!

Time Machine - Happy Birthday, Human

This was in the stack of cards that Nana has saved. This has to be one of my all time favorite stamps and sentiments. Haha, it's so silly! This was last year's birthday card for Senior, Clarence's dad.

Wouldn't you like for a nice robot to come to your birthday party? I would!

Time Machine - Christmas 2009

I hopped in my time machine last weekend and was able to retrieve this Christmas card. Okay, actually, Clarence's mom keeps all the cards I have given her, so I sorted through her stash.  I brought home the ones that I made before I created my blog, so I could photograph and share them with you.

This was the Christmas card that I made and sent out in 2009. When I saw the "Fluffles" stamp (that's the name of the mischievous cat), I knew I had to have it. The cards were a ton of fun to make and were a creation and design that was solely mine. I'm a little proud of them; enough to say this is one of my all time favorite cards that I've made.

I Love Fwood

I met a great Stampin' Up demonstrator at a craft fair in Chesapeake in March.  Since then, she invited me to be part of her group's meetings.  How cool is that?  So, I've met fellow stamp addicts, such as myself, and there's a group for us!  It's not a 12 step or anything, unless you count how many steps it takes to finish a card. :)  There are no interventions or crying stories of how stamping has wrecked relationships.  Only smiling, laughing, loud talking (not me, if you can believe it), learning and stamping.

This past Monday a lady at met at the group invited me to a separate function with Stampin' Up ladies.  It was a fun meeting and I was glad to have been invited.  One of the things I learned was how to make faux wood backgrounds. I like to call it "Fwood". :)  I've gotten so addicted to this technique, because it's fun and messy.  (I've already tried 6 different color combos since Monday!)

Here are the fwood backgrounds that I have created and will someday go on a card.

Giant Egg in a Wheelbarrow

Isn't this one of the cutest stamps ever?!  I loved it and knew I had to use it when I saw it.  He's so happy and cute.  I'd like to think that Peter is putting out all the eggs for the kids to find on Easter morning.  He's found that putting these giant eggs in a wheelbarrow is much easier than carrying each one to their destination.

I sent these cards out to a few lucky folks to say "Happy Easter". I'd like to think that it brightened their day.  It certainly brightened mine to make them!

I put this little bunny peep looking guy on the inside of the cards.  -- Watch out, because he might be making an encore presentation on next year's cards.  :)

A Card for a Girl That Wishes for a Tail

I made this card for my niece, Sophia. She LOVES mermaids so much that she too wishes she had a tail. Her little wish is so sweet that I wish she had one too. My mom wrote about Sophia's wish on her blog and the way she eloquently words everything, you feel like you were right there with them witnessing the pureness of being a child.  Click this to read my mom's story.

Side view of card.  I made it like this so she could set it up on her dresser and look at it.

Merci!

I made this card for my brother-in-law and sister-in-law. (How do you say that without using some many words?) I used the technique of coloring the stamp with the markers, then spritzing water on the stamp. I love the way this one turned out!

Is Your Life a Circus?

I got this paper with my sister in mind, but as I made her card, I realized that it would work for a card for my big brother. His life is a little like a circus right now and I thought he could appreciate this strange paper and the funny clown that I cut out and stuck at the bottom.

Clowning Around!

Okay, so this is the some of the strangest and weirdest paper I've ever come across. When I spotted it at the scrapbooking store, I knew that I had to get it and make something for my sister, Anna. She likes weird circus and fair things. This paper screamed "ANNA"! I didn't know what the occasion would be to send the card. I was thinking of a "Hi" card, but then I was recently at her house for unplanned extended period of time. ("Please don't throw me in the brier patch!" comes to mind.) So, now it's a "Thank you" card. Isn't it fun?

Bumble Bee is a VERY Fun Word to Say

I made this card to send to my big brother, Mauro. I think it works for a 'guy' card, because the colors. But I decided to make him a different card. One that would sum up what's going on for him right now. (Check out the next 2 posts to see the new card that I made for him.) So, this card will be held for someone else.

On a complete side note, these colors are the colors of a bumble bee. Which coincidentally is a VERY fun word to say.

Nana's Mother's Day Card

This card is for Mother's Day for Nana, Clarence's mom. I call her Nana, because that is what Little Anna calls her and it suits her. As 99% of my cards are made for a specific person this one was no different. Nana's style is "Shabby Chic". She's really drawn to those things with character. Which is probably why she loves her son, Clarence, so much, because he is quite a character. ;) When I told him that I was going to make his mom's card in a shabby chic style, he begged me not too. He said she needs something new, other than shabby chic. I like that style too, so I didn't heed his wishes. But perhaps we could call it Vintage Cottage. ;) Wouldn't that kind of be the same?! haha

The picture doesn't show the details so well.  I aged the Vanilla card stock and the Certainly Celery (light green) card stock with Distress Ink.  I stamped the light green card stock, then I crumbled it up in my hand a bunch of times to make it wrinkly and aged looking.

Senior's Birthday

Clarence's dad is having a birthday! I like to call him Senior, since he is THE Clarence Sr.  (It's not often that I go the other way and call my Clarence-"Junior"!)  Rumor has that it that he'll be 39!  How young! I whipped up this card for him. It's always hard to make a "masculine" card or at least one that you can give a guy and not make him feel like it's so girly.

This one was fun to make, because it involved circles.   I LOVE circles.  (And honestly, everything I pick out has circles and it's completely predictable.)  White circles on a white back ground makes it pretty easy to balance.

Watch out...there could be more circle layer cards to come. :)

Happy Mother's Day!

I've had this card idea flying around in my head forever.  Technically, since January when I got a bird punch and this stamp set. I just knew I had to make a special card for my Mommy. It was all my design and idea, which I am very proud of. Many of my cards are CASE'd (copy and share everything) or inspired by other cards I have seen.  I always add my own spin on it, but for this card, I made up everything with my very own brain - the one that my Mom made me.  So, how appropriate for Mother's Day!?!

Happy Mother's Day!!!

Dad's Birthday

This card was made for my dad. His birthday is today. Happy 39th Birthday, Dad!

Again, it's always so difficult to make a card that is masculine.  And I'm not in to the typical truck, motorcycle or hammer stamps.  So, I think this stamp set (circles, again) works perfect.  A unisex stamp set, if you will.

Thank You Carla!

This thank you card is for my friend Carla. She sent us a beautiful "W" that is polka dotted black and white and hangs inside your house or on your front door. I have ours on the front door. It is beautiful!

This card is a CASE (copy and share everything) from Andrea Walford's website. I just loved the card itself and this paper is AWESOME! I love the colors: pumpkin pie, rose red, and very vanilla. They even sounds pretty! I will be sad when I run out of this paper, but I'm sure I'll find something else (with circles) that I will love just as much.
