My Big Brother's Birthday

Happy Birthday, Mauro!!!

Today is my big brother's birthday and he is looking younger than ever! I mean, really, you should see him. He looks really young! I made this card for him Friday night and stuck in the mail on Saturday. It should arrive just in time. I hope he likes it!

I borrowed the design from this blog. I knew I wanted to use the "Wish Big" stamp (from my new stash), so I had to search for an idea of how to use it. I really liked the way it was used here, so I switched up the papers, etc. and a beautiful card was born. (If I do say so myself.)

I put this on the inside for some extra Birthday wishes.

Owl Always Love You!

This is a sample of my Valentine's Day cards. I made 14 of them. They've been completed for awhile now, but I finally put them in their envelopes tonight. I found the "Owl Always Love You!" stamp in the dollar bin at Michaels...WOOHOO! I found it after I had made my cards. How perfect is that?!

I borrowed the leaves and heart apples idea from a card I saw online.   There are also clouds sponged onto the background of the front and the inside, but they didn't show up so well in the picture.  Maybe one will be in your mailbox and you can see it in person.  :)

Inside.  (I had Clarence sign them ahead of me filling them out, since he would be out of town when I mailed them.)

Elegante'

I got some new Stampin' Up treats this week. WOOHOO! Thank you, Clarence!!!! So, I made this card. I knew when I saw this stamp set and matching punch, that I had to get it. :) I need to start looking at magazines with my eyes closed.

I think I'll add a sentiment to this card in the upper right or lower right. I'm not sure who it'll go to or what the sentiment will be. But when I look at this card I hear the word (in a southern twang) saying "Elegante'" (elegant -tay).

Dinosaurs with Balloons

I made this card for our nephew, Parker. He turns 4 on Saturday. I'm not sure if he's into dinosaurs, but they are bringing balloons to the party. So, what's not to like! I made these "perfect" tiny balloon shapes with my tiny heart punch and scissors.

Am I the only one that thinks of Terry when you look at this card? Terry Pterodactyl from PeeWee's Playhouse? I LOVED Terry!

Long Time, No See

Sometimes you want a quick and easy card to make. Sometimes you might not have a lot to say. Sometimes you might have a tiny stamp that fits a tiny background on a tiny card. Sometimes you might want to make cards for tiny people. Maybe, you just want to leave someone a quick note or just attach a little taglike card to a gift.

Here's your answer. The 3x3 card. I love these things! I made this one for Clarence. I feel like we don't ever get to see each other, since he is working in Chesapeake during the week, living out of a hotel and I'm in Winterville living in a comfy but lonesome house. Not to worry! Only 2 more weeks of this and we'll have a place to call home in Virginia.

My Little Secret

So, I'm a big lover of the internet.  I learn so much on here and get so entranced with it sometimes.  One of things I do A LOT is blog surf.  I use a program called a reader that will pull in all new posts for me on the websites, so I don't have to click through a million different bookmarks every day.   I love my reader, except for when I hate.  I only hate it when the operator (me) accidentally deletes all my blogs instead of deleting only the news.  Grrr.  There are a few times I've had to almost slap myself.

Anyways, here are a few of the blogs that I check to for card ideas, project ideas, fun reading and inspiration.  (This is not a list of all of them and they are not in any certain order.)  Several of the bloggers make step-by-step instructions and some even make videos.  If you look through them, you'll probably see where I've CASE'd ideas.

I Love Sushi!

This card was made a long time ago. Maybe a year ago? I made it for Clarence. I wanted him to know how much I love him...which is more than sushi!! AND that is a whole, whole lot. I really do love sushi, but I really do love him way more than it!

I got this idea from a website that I like to frequent (http://andreawalford.com/). They do lots of neat stuff and it's 99% Stampin' Up supplies.

Dinner or Supper?

Dinner or Supper? It's a thing that bothers me. Not 'bothers' me in a way that I avoid eating, but in the way that the words are used. There are 3 meals in a day. Meal 1 is called breakfast, right? Right! Meal 2 is called lunch, right? Right! Meal 3 is called dinner, right? Maybe...or maybe it's called supper. OR maybe dinner is another word for lunch. I think lunch is Lunch and dinner and supper are the the third meal of the day. What do you think? Well, no need to answer. Why don't they name all those other meals that I eat between meals 1 and 2 and between 2 and 3 and the the 2 or 3 that I eat after 3?  :) Aren't they important too? I mean, brunch and lupper are okay names, but are they even in the dictionary?

Anyways...this card was made for my sister's co-worker. She has a few couples over for dinner party once a year. Last year, I helped Anna make invitations for her. She liked them so much, that she asked her to make her another set for this year's dinner. This year, however, Anna is trying to be an overachiever and is taking some Masters classes. So, I volunteered to make the invitations since I have no class (haha) and have a little extra time on my hands.  Anna finished the invitations with a Top Note piece on the inside, so her co-worker can write anything she wants (whether it be dinner or supper!).
